Wine Profile
The wine critics have touted the Halcon Vineyard as “More Côte Rôtie than Côte Rôtie!” A perfume of black raspberries, white pepper, bay leaf and olive. This medium-bodied Syrah is fresh, elegant, and lively, with terrific purity. The added complexities from the vineyard site and elevation coupled with pure and new world winemaking this a stand out among top California Syrahs.

Palate Impressions
This inky colored beauty is darker and more mineral-laced than the Sangiacomo Vineyard and gives up lots of black raspberry, scorched earth, black pepper and loads of classic Syrah violets and floral nuances. Lush & silky mid-palate and pure fruit driven; A true Syrah lover’s dream.

Myriad Context
Located in the Mendocino appellation of the Yorkville highlands, this is our highest elevation and most northerly vineyard in the Myriad profile. Sitting above the fog line, the night time and early morning temperatures are warmer than the valley below. This smaller diurnal swing provides longer slower ripening and increased complexities. Grown on geologic band of rare soil composed of fractured shale, mica-schist and quartz rich rock, its northly location, ocean exposure, altitude and soil composition combine to produce a climate remarkably similar to the Northern Rhone region of France.
