2011 Myriad Cellars Syrah
Sugarloaf Mountain Vineyard, Napa Valley

Sugarloaf Mountain is the newest vineyard in our Syrah portfolio beginning with the 2011 vintage.  Located on the southernmost tip of Napa Valley, it overlooks the marsh land of San Pablo bay and is planted on fractured volcanic rock and pumice.  This stressed environment naturally produces a miniscule 1.5 to 2 tons per acre and contributes to the fruits overall concentration.

2011 Myriad Cellars Syrah Sugarloaf Mountain Vineyard The color is deep purple to the rim and is followed by aromatics of white pepper, violets, blackberries and mineral components that soar from the glass.  These gorgeous notes are followed by a rich and meaty palate that is concentrated, balanced and feminine.  The finish is balanced and structured which allows the wine to flow effortlessly into a finish that has prominent but slight tannins that will need a few years to integrate further.

A few years of bottle age will smooth out the rough edges and will drink well for 5-8 years.
