2011 Myriad Cellars Syrah
Sugarloaf Mountain 100% Whole Cluster, Napa Valley

With not enough fruit to produce our Las Madres 100% Whole Cluster this year, we decided to give this new vineyard a shot at it.  Stem inclusion adds additional layers of complexity and age worthiness to this version of Syrah.

2011 Myriad Cellars Syrah Sugarloaf Mountain Whole Cluster Violet purple to the rim, flavors and aromas of black pepper, savory herbs, dark raspberries and stone fruit leap from the glass.  The entry to this wine is complex and detailed yet seemingly weightless.  It carries a belly full of jucy acidity and meaty undertones that stretch for miles on the palate.  The mid palate is medium to full bodied and incredibly balanced for such a young wine.

A nice decant will smooth out the lively nature of this detailed and pure Syrah.  Age will be kind, so make sure to lay them down for a few years to enjoy the amazing complexity that time will bring.  Look for it to hit its peak drinking window in 6-8 years.
