2015 Myriad Cellars Las Madres Vineyard Syrah, Carneros

The meticulously farmed Las Madres Vineyard is nestled in a small bowl on the Sonoma side of the Carneros region.  Our Esther Block is perched on the eastern slopes allowing for excellent daytime ripening, while benefiting from cool marine-influenced nights. Yielding approximately 4 ton per acre, this vineyard is usually our last pick of the season as it really hits its stride in latter part of the season.  The nose greets you with floral notes, black fig, anise and dark fruits, leading into a balanced and lush mid palate of brine, black tea, and signature notes of black olive.  Cool climate to a tee, this Rhone style beauty illustrates a wonderful combination of powerful red fruit, complex layers and silky waves of dense structure on the finish. Our flagship and most popular Syrah vineyard is really in its prime. Drinking well now with a small decant, or lay this down for 2-3 years to smooth out the edges.
