2014 Myriad Cellars Sangiacomo Vineyard Syrah Petaluma Gap Sonoma Coast

When third generation wine growers Mike and Steve Sangiacomo come to the table with a handshake deal, we take it! In 2014, we jumped at their offer of two distinct Syrah blocks from this esteemed vineyard. The 2014 Myriad Sangiacomo Vineyard Syrah is one of the most complex and layered wines that we have produced. A very early and shy growing season yielded only 27 cases of this beauty. It is deep, with a lush, smooth texture and is loaded with aromas and flavors of red fruit, earth, and hints of forest floor. The vineyard is situated at the western base of Sonoma Mountain and each distinct block brings with it added layers of texture and flavor nuance. Climate is the key to this vineyard’s ability to produce noteworthy fruit. Cool ocean breezes and the legendary Petaluma Gap fog keep the heat in check. The resulting wine is spectacular! Decant for 6-8 hours if opened young or age for 7-8 years which will tone down this youngster.
